Effingham Parish Council formally declared a Climate Emergency on 27th July 2021. This followed the setting up last year of a Working Group ‘Effingham Climate Change’ (ECC).
The Blue Hearts scheme to leave suitable verges uncut to provide a vital refuge for many bees, butterflies, birds, bats and insects has been successfully introduced by ECC.
Residents are encouraged to sign the petition for a Pesticide-free Guildford set up by Guildford Environmental Forum working with the national campaign group Pesticide Action Network.
